Captee

Share a link to Emacs or a Markdown editor without marking it up.

Captee is an app that shares a link (both URL and title) in one step straight from the macOS Share menu. Results are stored in the system clipboard for pasting into your favorite editor.

Captee can share content directly into Emacs via Org Protocol.

Captee supports both Org and Markdown.

Simple User Interface

Captee lets you see and edit the link before sharing.

Specify your preferred format (Org, Markdown).

Shared link is captured in the system clipboard or sent directly to Emacs.

Paste Link, Simplified

Paste the shared link into your favorite Markdown Editor (⌘-v) or Emacs (^-y).

One-step operation for both URL and title!

Share Content

For apps that support macOS sharing, selected text can be captured to your editor.

Captee will convert basic text formatting (style, links, lists) in selected text to Org or Markdown from most word processing apps (e.g. Notes, TextEdit, Pages) that support macOS sharing.

Copied text with basic formatting when pasted into Captee can also be converted to Org or Markdown.

Bespoke Emacs Support

With Scrim, Captee can capture directly into an Emacs Org file using Org Protocol.

Scrim sold separately. Both Scrim and Captee can be purchased together at a reduced price.
